Birds Of Steel

From today's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Ed Bouchette writes:
Now another AFC championship game comes to Pittsburgh. The Steelers lost two previous games at Heinz Field to the Patriots after the 2001 and 2004 seasons. They also lost two out of three title games in Three Rivers Stadium in the 1990s.

As Tomlin said yesterday, though, "This is the story of the 2008 Pittsburgh Steelers."

They, not history, will get to write their own ending.

Steelers/Ravens. AFC Championship. Sunday. 6:30pm in the Burgh.

We're From The Burgh

Those jaggoff's from right south of us head to Pittsburgh today for the AFC Divisional Playoff where they will face 65,000 terrible towels, 23 degrees and of course the best defense in all the land. Rumors are that Troy Polamalu hasn't stopped running in two weeks and that Ben Roethlisberger and Heinz Ward have been practicing fade routes all around the steel city. Yesterday Ward was spotted making a diving catch from one side of the Ohio River to the other. Amazing.

With a win today the Steelers will head to the AFC Championship where they will face the not-so-popular Baltimore Ravens and some jag named Flacco. It's obviously one game at a time, but knowing that those dickheads may be right around the corner feels pretty good. And with a possible McNabb win today we may be looking at a Pennsylvania Super Bowl. Oh baby does that sound good. I heard McNabb loves eating turf. But we're getting ahead of ourselves. Today is San Diego. A bag full of suck that loves to lose. Go Steelers!
